ALTERED BY MOM
Altered by Mom is a smart, irreverent, and effortlessly cool rock band from Toronto, Canada. The female-fronted trio brings a mix of catchy, well-crafted rock music with a rebellious edge and a sense of humor. JUNO-winning songwriters Gina Kennedy (Bass/Vox) and Devon Lougheed (Guitar, Vox), joined by Max Trefler (Drums) play with gender roles, lean into DIY creativity, and embrace a badass, fun, and authentic energy.
HYAENAS
Hyaenas is an Indie Alt Pop band known for their fierce energy, bona fide connection, and a sound that fuses 80’s nostalgia with modern production, pulsing synths, gritty guitars, and emotionally potent lyrics. Their music lies somewhere along the lineage between The Go-Go’s and The Beaches, and explores the complexities of Human Nature through a lens that’s as bold as it is vulnerable.
Since their explosive debut opening for The Pack AD in 2021, Hyaenas has steadily built a name for themselves with their palpable chemistry lighting up stages across Canada. Their debut EP Little Trophy (2023) catalyzed sold-out hometown shows in Vancouver, headlining at Edge of the World and Sunshine Music Festival, showcasing as 1 of 5 artists selected at Women in Music BC at CMW, support slots for Kimmortal, ACTORS, and Shred Kelly, and multiple Canadian Pride events including Pride Night at Rogers Arena. Little Trophy debuted at #11 on the National !Earshot Radio Charts, earned sync placements in Netflix’s My Life with the Walter Boys, and surpassed 160K streams worldwide.
Now, Hyaenas is ushering into a new era with their upcoming full length album Human Nature. Across ten tracks, they confront burnout, gender politics, internalized doubt, and the cost of adhering to the status quo. The album wrestles with what it means to take up space in a world built to contain you, and what it takes to survive with your sense of self intact. For anyone who's ever questioned their role in the story they were handed, this album offers something rare: not just catharsis, but the tools to rewrite the narrative.
Comprised of two married couples who CBC affectionately referred to as “Lesbian ABBA” - Hyaenas is carving out a space of their own with songs that hit hard and stay with you.
“Bands such as Alvvays, Dear Rouge, and Metric may dominate this scene, but they best watch out – Hyaenas are poised to stake a legitimate claim up there with the best of them.” - Great Dark Wonder
COLD FAME
Cold Fame is an alternative pop-rock duo from BC, Canada, led by vocalist Jodi Pederson and guitarist Damian Anthony. Blending the energy and drive of alternative rock with electronic and pop influences, the band has crafted a unique and emotionally charged sound, inspired by classic horror tropes and suppressed feminine rage.
Damian, a skilled multi-instrumentalist and self-taught producer, brings his creative approach to songwriting and sound design, while Jodi’s powerful, haunting and anthemic vocals and lyricism adds a unique edge. Their dynamic partnership fuelled the band’s evolution, culminating in the release of their debut album, RED ROOM, in fall 2024.
The album’s breakout single, “Hello Reaper,” gained strong traction on Canadian radio, spending several months on the Alternative Top 40 and peaking at #29. Its follow-up, “Jawbreaker,” climbed even higher, reaching #13 and holding a spot in the Top 20 for several weeks, where it continues to chart. Their latest single, “Girls Gotta Eat,” landed in the Top 40 in December 2025 and continues to rise, marking Cold Fame’s third consecutive charting release.
Following the success of “Jawbreaker,” “Girls Gotta Eat” serves as the second single from Cold Fame’s forthcoming sophomore album, Love, Lust & Violence, set for release in 2026.
Their high energy live performances have landed them multiple festivals alongside artists like Gwen Stefani, Fleet Foxes, Cold War Kids, Peach Pit, Band of Skulls and more. This success has begun to cement Cold Fame’s reputation as one of Canada’s most exciting energetic pop-rock acts, while building anticipation for their 2026 release of Love, Lust & Violence, which will usher in a bold new era for the band.
