Drawing from Detroit’s rich musical heritage and his personal fascination with horror cinema, G-REX constructs beats that feel both familiar and alien. His production work spans labels including OWSLA/Atlantic, Monstercat, Wakaan, Deadbeats, Never Say Die, and Subsidia, showcasing a versatility that extends well beyond traditional electronic music frameworks.
G-REX’s live presence has evolved from supporting acts for Excision and Liquid Stranger to headlining performances at major festivals including Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, Shambhala, and HARD Summer. His sets reflect an understanding of crowd dynamics that goes beyond simple energy manipulation—each performance functions as a carefully constructed narrative.
Currently, G-REX is expanding his creative scope, moving deeper into hip-hop production and collaborative work that bridges electronic music’s technical possibilities with rap’s rhythmic foundations. This pivot represents not just artistic growth but a return to the genre that first shaped his musical perspective. His recent projects demonstrate a producer comfortable working across multiple sonic territories while maintaining a distinctive approach that initially set him apart.
